Clay Christmas Houses
What do you do when you have coloured clay and empty plastic containers? You build clay Christimas houses! Students of Miss Cherlyn Mark (founder of art@homesg, Singapore) were put to the challenge and look at what those nimble little hands produced—whimsical and out-of-this-world fancy little homes!
Empty plastic containers (8cm x 12cm x 12cm, S$0.50 each, available at Phoon Huat) form the foundation for the coloured clay. Kids put on their thinking caps and viola~ out came these mythical-looking houses fit for colourful figurines, which the children also created. After the houses were built, the kids put LED lights into the plastic containers. These houses not only make eye-catching display pieces at home, they also serve as night lights in the little ones’ bedrooms.
The clay which is used in this craft project is available at ArtFriend, and it comes in various colours. The plastic container is available at Phoon Huat.
